Frequently Asked Questions

How do you bleed a towel radiator?

If your towel radiator isn't heating properly or feels cold at the top and warm at the bottom, it likely has trapped air inside, Bleeding your heated towel rail is a quick and simple fix.

Step 1: Turn off your heating.

Step 2: Locate the bleed valve, commonly found at the top corner of the radiator.

Step 3: Protect the area to catch any water.

Step 4: Open the valve slowly by inserting the radiator key and turning it anti-clockwise. You'll hear a hissing sound - this is the trapped air escaping.

Step 5: Wait for water - once the hissing stops and a steady stream of water begins to flow, close the valve by turning it clockwise.

Step 6: Check the pressure - after bleeding your radiator, check your boiler pressure. If it has dropped below the recommended level (usually 1-1.5 bar), you may need to top it up.

Step 7: Turn your heating back on and check that your radiator is heating up evenly.

How can I clean rust off my heated towel rail?

If you've noticed rust spots on your heated towel rail, don't worry, light surface rust can usually be removed quickly with the right approach. Acting early prevents further corrosion and keeps your bathroom radiator looking its best.

We recommend first turning off your heating and giving the surface a light clean with warm soapy water to remove dust and grime. To treat light rust you can simply use white vinegar or baking soda by applying to a cloth and placing it over the rusted area and leaving to soak in for 1-2 hours. You can then simply wipe clean and fully dry before turning your heating back on.

For stubborn rust you can use very fine steel wool to lightly remove remaining rust. However it is important to be careful - especially on chrome finishes as excessive pressure can damage the coating.

What styles of heated towel rails are available?

We sell a large ranged of heated towel rails to suit all interiors. From designer towel rails to traditional towel rails with vertical and horizontal styles in central heating options or electric. All available in a variety of finishes to match the rest of your bathroom fixtures including black, grey, white, chrome and brushed brass.
