Basin Taps

The standard height of a basin tap depends on the type of tap and basin, but there are some common guidelines:

Mono basin (mixer) taps: Usually around 100-150mm from the base to the spout outlet.

Pillar taps: Often shorter, around 80-120mm.

Tall basin taps: Typically 200-300m or more, depending on basin height.

The most important thing to consider when choosing your basin tap is that you have roughly a clearance of 100mm or more from the sink to ensure enough space to wash your hands.

A lot of basin wastes are supplied separately to your basin taps, however you will find a few models that come paired with the taps. Check the individual listing of the product you like and it will state in the description if one is supplied.

Yes - in most cases you can replace a basin tap yourself if you are reasonably comfortable with a bit of DIY and already have some basic tools. It is usually easiest to do yourself if the tap is a standard basin mixer or pillar tap and you have easy access underneath your basin.
