Frequently Asked Questions

Are shower trays included with shower enclosures ?

No, generally shower trays are not included, only with the exception of very unique shaped enclosures. The reason for this is that most shower enclosures will fit on any type of shower tray and there is a huge range of styles of tray that you might want to choose from.

Firstly there are trays that can be used with a leg set to raise the tray up off the floor if pipework needs to be above ground. There are trays designed to fit flush to the tiles to create a wetroom look and you can even opt for a coloured or slate effect tray. For this reason we generally don’t include them as a package as we find customers feel this is limiting, however we are on hand to offer advise if you need it.

Do I need a specific tray for my quadrant enclosure ?

In the UK almost all quadrant and offset quadrant enclosures adhere to a standard radius. This just means that you can buy any quadrant tray for any quadrant enclosure providing the size matches!

Does glass thickness matter on my shower enclosure?

Glass thickness is very important - the thicker the glass. the higher quality the door, not just because of the glass itself but the standard of components that are needed to hold the door or help it slide must be made of a much higher quality in order to cope with the weight.

Glass generally comes in 3 thicknesses in terms of showers, 6mm, 8mm and 10mm.
We would not recommend any glass thinner than 6mm in a bathroom. All glass should be tempered safety glass but the higher end products really do make a difference.

Use 10mm if you can in the main family bathroom and perhaps 8mm in a guest ensuite if you can.
