The technology in bathroom wastes has improved greatly in recent years resulting in improved performance and longevity in the product. Most wastes used to be known as pop up wastes utilising a lever at the back of the tap to force the waste up, although these are still available a much more reliable and popular choice would the clicker waste which is independent to the tap and has a better mechanism. Bath wastes are more varied and can have a pop up handle on the overflow allowing a wire to operate the waste, a clicker setup similar to a basin waste or if you are going for a more minimal look you can use a Bath Over Flow filler which is not only a waste but also connects to a mixed water supply and fills the bath from the overflow. This removes the need for a bath tap / spout and requires an outlet from a shower mixer valve, a very neat, clean and efficient solution!
