Shower Trays
Shower tray manufacture has changed quite a bit over recent years due to the stone that was traditionally used to manufacture these becoming very expensive to get hold of. A lot of alternative ways are now used to make these trays including steel reinforcing rods through lightweight acrylic which gives complete rigidity whilst making the product a lot lighter. Most shower trays are also becoming more and more low profile with the most contemporary trays now being just 25mm thick. This has been allowed due to larger 90mm fast flow wastes being used which are capable of letting the water flow away from even the most powerful shower. Some manufacturers give the option to have linear wastes to give a different dimension to the design. When purchasing a tray check to make sure that the waste is in a position that is suitable based on your floor joists or that you are purchasing raised legs.
